Davos Instruments is visiting METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology) to complete the delivery of dedicated pyroelectric detectors.
These detectors will be used as a working reference for calibrating optical power meters for fibre optics in the micro watt range at the METAS photonics laboratory. Their flat spectral response makes them ideally suited to this task. They are calibrated against the cryogenic primary standard radiometer at METAS to ensure traceability to the International System of Units (SI).
We are excited to support our national metrology institute in maintaining this setup.
Manufactured in collaboration with NIST, these detectors are also used by other national metrology institutes. Apart from their use in fibre optic applications, these detectors are also employed in free space laser applications.
