Successful start of the IPC-XIII

Finally the solar radiometry crowd gathers again in Davos, Switzerland. The 13th International Pyrheliometer Comparison (IPC) has successfully started. It is a great pleasure to meet again in person and to compare our instruments together. With close to a 100 absolute cavity radiometers present, it is an excellent opportunity to independently study the performance of the radiometers. Several PMO8, manufactured by Davos Instruments, are taking part in the intercomparison. Furthermore, Davos Instruments operates an Eppley AHF-radiometer in active mode: a premiere.

  • Impression from the IPC: a PMO6 radiometer in front, and two AHF radiometers in the back.
  • The three absolute cavity radiometers of PTB Germany: Two PMO8 and a PMO6 in between. The instruments show excellent performance against each other.
